UNSIKA KARAWANG

KARAWANG.DIWNPOS.ONLINE.|- Singaperbangsa Karawang University (Unsika) has officially conducted the entrance test for prospective postgraduate (S2) students for the 2026 academic year. The test is part of the first registration wave, which has been carried out through several selection stages in accordance with the regulations of each study program.Saturday (07-01-2026)

Unsika's Public Relations Division Head Nurhali SH MH explained that in this first wave, a total of 27 prospective S2 students have participated in the initial selection process. This number is still below the ideal quota, considering each Unsika S2 program class targets a minimum of 40 students.

In the selection process, prospective students not only take a written test but are also directed to their respective faculties and departments to undergo an interview. The interview aims to assess academic readiness, study motivation, and the compatibility of the prospective students' educational backgrounds.

In addition to the interview, the selection stages also include a TOEFL test. For participants whose undergraduate (S1) educational background is not aligned with the chosen S2 study program, a matriculation test is mandatory. Meanwhile, matriculation is not required for participants with an aligned S1 major.

The committee stated that the second wave of student admissions will be adjusted to the quota of each study program, while still referring to the minimum number of students standard.

The currently open S2 study programs at Singaperbangsa Karawang University include:

- Master of Educational Management (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education)

- Master of Physical Education and Health

- Master of Mathematics Education

- Master of Community Education Science

- Master of Islamic Religious Education (Faculty of Islamic Studies)

- Master of Law (Faculty of Law)

- Master of Communication Science

Unsika hopes that the presence of these S2 programs will become a priority choice for higher education among the people of Karawang, so they no longer need to pursue further studies outside the region.

"We hope that postgraduate-level education in Karawang will become more popular and receive support from the community. This is important for improving the quality of local human resources," he said.

With the opening of subsequent registration waves, Unsika is optimistic that interest from the people of Karawang and surrounding areas to pursue master's level education will continue to increase.
